My Counselling Approach

This is where therapeutic customization comes in. Using a combination of the evidence-based practices listed below, I’ll create a therapeutic plan to support you with your counselling goals. All guided through a strengths-based, intersectional-feminist lens that lends itself to supporting ALL people.

Narrative Therapy

A respectful, non-blaming approach to counselling, which places the client as experts in their own lives. It views the problem as separate from the individual and acknowledges the many skills, competencies, and abilities they have.

Client-Centred Therapy

This perspective removes the role of the therapist as the ‘expert’ and encourages the clients to explore freely in session. It emphasizes reflective listening, empathy, and acceptance in therapy as a means of building understanding and confidence in clients.

Solution-Focused Therapy

A goal focused approach of strength-based positive psychology, supporting client change by emphasizing solutions rather than focusing on problems.
